Ruka

On Friday October 2, 2026, we said goodbye to our sweet girl, Ruka..

Ruka was our world, the constant joy in our lives, and the most wonderful dog anyone could ask for. She was always in for a fun time, never met a tennis ball she didn’t want to destroy, and absolutely loved ice cream, garbage, and stealing loaves of bread off the counter. She ripped up cardboard & tissues, she’d do anything for a liver treat, she loved her rope, and her toys.

She was always playing and running after her ball, and would often sit and sun herself on the back deck, or in the grass. She loved chasing leaves in the fall, bounding through snow in the winter, sniffing the spring blooms, and was happiest when she was swimming at the lake. She loved going on trail walks, going for beers at all the local patios and breweries. Her absolute favourite things were rolling around and ‘sand snaking’ in the snow or grass, taking long sniffs on walks, going for rides in her grandparents jeep, and enjoying endless snuggles & cuddles with her people.

Ruka, you have left a huge hole in our hearts. We miss your whine, little grumbles and sighs, the jingle of your collar, and listening to your little sleep barks when you were having big dreams. Seeing your face in the window when we come home, all of your little quirks, and your sweet loving nature. Everyone who ever met you fell in love with you, and you will be missed by all of your friends and family. You are so incredibly loved.

We are endlessly thankful that we were able to take time with you the last week before you passed, that you were able to be in our new home, and spent lots of time in the yard we had wanted for you. You were able to have your people by your side, we made sure you were completely spoiled, and knew just how loved you are.

Thank you for letting us be your people. We are so lucky to be loved by you.
