Balki was loved deeply and completely. He was our wise old gentleman - with a good dash of mischief.

He loved his companions who went before him - Sam and Jenna - and his new friend Floki, who he trained, before he passed, to be a most wonderful dog! He adored our daughters, Claire and Anabelle, and there was no mistaking the glint in his eye when we would mention they were coming home. He loved his grandma and and grandpa, who always had treats to give him if he presented himself at their cabin's back door.

He loved the lake, stretching out on his deck, and keeping watch over all of the activities like he was on duty! Boat rides, super ball, scratches and snacks were his faves.

Most of all, though, Balki brought calm, clarity, and quiet strength - his greatest love was reserved for his parents, who miss him every single day.

Rest easy, Balki Barktokomous- you were the companion of a lifetime, and you live on every single day in our hearts.
